Information

Ecological parameter:  potamal preference (ECO-P)

Parameter group: region preference parameters

Explanation:
ECO-P describes the affinity of a taxon to the potamal region of a river/stream. Taxa are assigned values between 1 and 5 according to Schöll et al. (2005). A high value indicates that a taxon is typically found in the potamal region of a river/stream.

Schöll, F., Haybach, A., & König, B. (2005): Das erweiterte Potamontypieverfahren zur ökologischen Bewertung von Bundeswasserstraßen (Fließgewässertypen 10 und 20: kies- und sandgeprägte Ströme, Qualitätskomponente Makrozoobenthos) nach Maßgabe der EU-Wasserrahmenrichtlinie.
